Center Valley, PA (October 21, 2010) – The DeSales University volleyball team evened their overall record at 13-13 on Thursday evening dominating Albright College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-15) to return to the .500 mark on the season in a non-conference match.
Before the game seniors
Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and
Alyssa Poplaski (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) were honored playing their last regular season home match in Billera Hall. DSU sent them away with positive memories hitting .315 as a team and totaled 10 service aces in the shutout win over the Lions (8-16 overall).
Fehnel led the way with nine kills, two aces, 11 digs, and three blocks in the win. Junior
Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) added a team-high 12 kills and sophomore
Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) finshed with seven kills and one block.
Freshman
Haley Petrarca (Reading, PA/Wyomissing) added six kills and four aces, sophomore
Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) finished with 31 assists, nine digs, and two blocks, freshman
Emilie Baker (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) totaled five kills, two aces, and 11 digs, and sophomore
Eden Reichard (Mertztown, PA/Brandywine Heights) played well with a team-high 15 digs.
DeSales gets the weekend off and will return to action on Wednesday, October 27th at King's College in the final regular season Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
