Pomona, NJ (October 29, 2010) – The DeSales University field hockey team closed out its 2010 season with a 3-1 loss at Richard Stockton College in non-conference action on Friday evening in Pomona, NJ.

The Bulldogs finish the season with a 7-12 overall record with the loss. DSU was out-shot, 14-9, in the game and the Ospreys (3-15 overall) held an 11-5 edge in penalty corners. Freshman Nicole Schneider (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) made three saves for the Bulldogs.

DSU fell behind 2-0 thru the first 20 minutes before junior Carla Nunez (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg North) got the Bulldogs on the board, pulling them within one with an unassisted goal at the 20:46 mark. That score stood into the half and the Ospreys added an insurance goal in the 46th minute to provide the final.

It is the final game in the careers of Nunez and seniors Kelsey Strowhouer (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine), Jamie Matthews (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown), and Amy Pulcini (Easton, PA/Easton).
