Allentown, PA (October 6, 2010) – The DeSales University men's soccer team fell short in its upset bid of nationally ranked Muhlenberg College on Wednesday evening, falling 2-0 to the Mules in a non-conference game between local rivals.

The game was scoreless up until the 64th minute when Danny Way scored off an assist from Eric Williams on a free kick from the middle of the field. Muhlenberg (6-0-4 overall) tacked on an insurance goal off the boot of Cody Antonini with just 2:20 left to provide the final margin.

The Bulldogs (7-4-1 overall) have had a rough time getting a goal on the scoreboard and have been held scoreless now in each of the last three games. Muhlenberg out-shot the Bulldogs 28-6 and had a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks.

One bright spot in the loss was the play of sophomore Adam Franczak (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth), who was terrific in between the pipes making 12 stops in the game.

The Bulldogs return to action and to Freedom Conference play on Saturday as they travel to FDU-Florham with game time set for 2:00 pm.
