Balanced Attack helps Bulldogs Win Second Straight Match

Allentown, PA (October 6, 2010) – Four different players had seven or more kills leading a balanced attack in the DeSales University volleyball team's second straight win, 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-14), over local rival Muhlenberg College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening in Memorial Hall.

The Bulldogs (11-10 overall) hit .329 for the match and had four team blocks to go along with eight service aces. Muhlenberg (2-15 overall) hit .207 in the loss.

Leading the attack for the Bulldogs was senior Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) with eight kills and just one error for a .636 hitting percentage. Fehnel added 12 digs. Freshman Emilie Baker (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) finished with seven kills and a .538 hitting percentage, along with three aces and nine digs, junior Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) had seven kills and two blocks, and sophomore Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) finished with seven kills and three blocks.

Sophomore Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) did a terrific job spreading the ball around to all her hitters and finished with 25 assists and seven digs.

The Bulldogs return to action this weekend when they travel to Widener University for a tri-match with Widender and PSU-Altoona on Saturday.
