Allentown, PA (September 11, 2010) – The DeSales University volleyball team swept all three matches over the weekend to win the Buttermaker Volleyball Tournament hosted by local rival Muhlenberg College on Friday and Saturday.

Senior Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and sophomore Eden Reichard (Merztown, PA/Brandywine) led the way earning All-Tournament honors for the Bulldogs (5-2 overall). DSU defeated Muhlenberg, 3-0, on Friday and bested Neumann University, 3-2, and Moravian College, 3-0, on Saturday.

In the win on Friday sophomore Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) had a team-high seven kills, while Fehnel and junior Lauren Hickey (Ridley, PA/Ridley Park) each had six. Reichard finished with a team-high 18 digs and sophomore setter Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) had 23 assists and nine digs.

In the win over Neumann, Fehnel totaled a team-high 14 kills and Horrigan added 13 tallies. Fehnel also had 15 digs and three service aces, while Reichard equaled her three aces and added 21 digs. Hickey totaled 10 kills and had two blocks, freshman Haley Petrarca (Reading, PA/Wyomissing) finished with eight kills and two blocks, freshman Emilie Baker (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) added eight kills and 18 digs, and McNulty finished with 50 assists and 11 digs.

In the win over Moravian, Fehnel was very impressive with 12 kills, 10 digs, and five blocks. Baker finished with eight kills and eight digs, Reichard had 23 digs, and McNulty finished with 26 assists and 14 digs.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, September 15th when they host nationally ranked Eastern University in the first Freedom Conference match of the season beginning at 7:00 pm.
