BOX SCORE

Chester, PA (September 18, 2010) – After having everything fall into place early in the season the DeSales University field hockey team has it a rough patch, dropping its third straight game, 3-1, at Widener University on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Bulldogs (4-3 overall) fell behind 1-0 in the first half and never recovered in the second half in the loss. Widener (3-1 overall) out-shot the Bulldogs 14-11 and held a 9-6 edge in penalty corners. Each goalie including sophomore Victoria DelToro (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) made seven saves in the game.

DSU's lone goal came at the 67:37 mark, an unassisted tally from senior Amy Pulcini (Easton, PA/Easton), her team-leading fifth goal of the season and the first for DeSales in the last three games.

The Bulldogs get a well deserved week off to rest up and prepare for their Freedom Conference season opener vs. Delaware Valley College this homecoming Saturday, September 25th beginning at Noon. LIVE Stats will be available for the game on the DeSales web site on gameday.
