Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) totaled a team-high 28 kills and seven blocks leading the DeSales University volleyball team to a tri-match split with Goucher College and St. Mary's College (MD) on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.
The Bulldogs (6-4 overall) opened play with a 3-1 (25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 25-14) win over Goucher, but fell in the second match, 3-2 (22-25, 18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-8), to St. Mary's (MD) despite taking each of the first two sets. DSU hit .271 as a team in the win over the Gophers but just .127 in the loss to the Seahawks.
In the opener Fehnel had 15 kills and just two errors to hit .500 for the match. She added a team-high five blocks, two solo, and also had seven digs. Sophomore
Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) was also impressive with 10 kills and no errors for a .476 hitting percentage. Horrigan also added two blocks.

Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) had seven kills, 33 assists, 17 digs, and two blocks, sophomore
Eden Reichard (Mertztown, PA/Brandywine Heights) finished with 22 digs and six service aces, and junior
Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) had nine kills and two blocks. Freshman
Haley Petrarca (Reading, PA/Wyomissing) totaled seven kills and nine digs.
In the loss to St. Mary's Fehnel again led the way with 13 kills, 17 digs, and two blocks. Horrigan totaled 10 kills and three blocks and McNulty was again impressive with four kills, 40 assists, and 14 digs. Hickey finished with nine more kills and Reichard totaled 28 digs.
DSU takes to the road this week with six matches all away from home beginning with another Freedom Conference match at Delaware Valley College on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 pm.
