Glenside, PA (September 29, 2010) – The DeSales University field hockey team suffered its fifth straight loss on Wednesday evening, falling at Arcadia University, 1-0, in a non-conference game.
After scoring 15 goals thru its first four games (all wins), the Bulldogs (4-5, 0-1 Freedom) have had a tough time scoring goals in their last five games, tallying only once in that span. DSU suffers its second straight 1-0 defeat, after also falling to Delaware Valley College by that margin on Saturday in overtime.
Arcadia (6-4 overall) got on the board early, just 7:18 into the game as
Caroline Champi scored unassisted taking control of a rebound in the circle and pushing it into the cage. AU held an 18-4 edge in shots and a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Freshman
Nicole Schneider (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) and sophomore
Victoria DelToro (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) split time in goal, combining for 11 saves.
The Bulldogs will look to break this losing skid on Saturday, October 2nd when they travel to Misericordia University for an important Freedom Conference game beginning at 11:00 am.
