Center Valley, PA (October 15, 2011) – The DeSales University men's soccer tied the team record for consecutive wins, topping Delaware Valley College, 2-1, in a Freedom Conference game to win its ninth straight game and improve to 12-2-1 on the season.

The only other time DeSales has won nine straight came during the 1988 season.  DSU (12-2-1, 4-0 Freedom) will get a chance to break the record on Wednesday evening but will face a tough test when they travel to Misericordia University for a rematch of last year's Freedom Conference semifinal playoff game last year beginning at 7:00 pm.

On Saturday, DSU did all of its scoring (on its own net) in the first half.  Junior Steve Krause made it 1-0 at the 20:41 mark when he blasted home a close range shot after a quick pass in the box from senior Derek Long.  The tally was Krause' fifth of the season.

Sophomore Adam Berish made it 2-0 in the 39th minute, taking a short pass from sophomore Alec Dimitriadis inside the box, side-stepping an Aggie (4-10, 0-4 Freedom) defender and beating the keeper to the left side for his first career goal.

Delaware Valley got within one goal in the 67 minute when a Bulldog clear attempt inside the box was headed into its own net but never got any closer as the Aggies only mustered five shots and were out-shot by DSU 26-5 for the game.

Freshman Colin Sulpizio made one save in between the pipes.  DSU has now won 11-straight games against Freedom Conference opponents and are unbeaten in 13-straight.
