Field Hockey Falls at Manhattanville, 3-0

Sophomore Sam Lavin had two of DSU's 10 shots in the loss on Thursday at Manhattanville.

Purchase, NY (October 20, 2011) – The DeSales University field hockey team suffered its eighth straight defeat, falling to Manhattanville College, 3-0, in Freedom Conference action on Thursday afternoon in Purchase, NY.

The Valiants (10-5, 3-2 Freedom) built a 1-0 lead at the half and extended their lead to 3-0 with two second-half goals just 1:22 apart to earn the conference win.

Junior Victoria DelToro was once again tremendous in between the pipes, making 12 saves.  MVille out-shot the Bulldogs (4-12, 1-4 Freedom), 27-10, in the game, while both teams had eight penalty corners.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday, October 22nd when they host Eastern University beginning at Noon.
