Bulldogs Roll Past Wilkes; Reach 20-Wins for 14th Time

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 4, 2011) – The DeSales University volleyball team started a new winning streak on Tuesday, rolling past Wilkes University, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-10), to reach 20+ wins for the 14th time in program history on Tuesday evening.

The 20th win on October 4th also marks the fastest DSU has reached 20 wins in program history as the Bulldogs now sit at 20-3 overall and 4-0 in the Freedom Conference.  It is the fourth 20+ win season for current head coach Michele Zabinski.

DSU was led by sophomore Madeline Svrcek with 11 kills, two aces, and 13 digs.  Freshman Julie Blessing had eight kills, sophomore Emilie Baker totaled five kills and nine digs, and junior Paige Horrigan had four kills and two blocks.

Junior Justine McNulty finished with 28 assists and seven digs, junior Eden Reichard totaled eight digs, and freshman Amanda Wallitsch added eight digs in the win.

DeSales returns to action tomorrow when they travel to PSU-Berks for a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
