Center Valley, PA (October 5, 2011) – The DeSales University men's soccer team won its sixth straight game, out-scoring Marywood University, 3-0, in a non-conference game on a picture perfect Wednesday afternoon.

The win moves DeSales to 9-2-1 overall, just one win short of its third straight 10+ win season and the 10th in the last 11 years, while the loss drops the Pacers to 6-3 overall.  DSU out-shot Marywood, 14-6 and held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.  Freshman Colin Sulpizio made the only save needed, a diving stop mid-way thru the first half when the game was still a scoreless tie.  He combined with sophomore Mike Thompson to record DSU's fourth shutout of the season.

Junior Zach Davis got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the 35th minute taking a short pass from freshman Derek Ross inside the box and flicked it past the Pacer keeper from point blank range for his second goal of the season.  It was Ross' first career assist.

A 1-0 game to start the second half was extended to the eventual final 3-0 margin with an own goal in the 51st minute and a penalty kick goal from junior Padraic Farrell, his first career goal at 54:33 after sophomore Josh Himes drew a foul in the box.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Eastern University for another important Freedom Conference road contest beginning at 3:00 pm.
