Center Valley, PA (September 14, 2011) – Junior
Paige Horrigan had a match-high 12 kills and hit .500 leading the DeSales University volleyball team past King's College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-11), to open its Freedom Conference schedule with a win on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
As a team, DeSales (8-2, 1-0 Freedom) hit .395 for the match as compared to just .060 for the Lady Monarchs (1-5, 0-1 Freedom). The Bulldogs also did not commit a receiving error and had five aces of their own.
Horrigan had 12 kills, two errors, and 20 attack attempts to go along with two total blocks. Senior
Lauren Hickey added nine kills and seven digs, sophomore
Haley Petrarca finished with six kills and two blocks, freshman
Julie Blessing put down all four balls she attached and also had two blocks, and sophomore
Madeline Svrcek had four kills and six digs.
Junior
Eden Reichard and freshman
Amanda Wallitsch led the defense with eight digs each and junior
Justine McNulty finished with 31 assists and five digs in the win.
DeSales returns to the court this weekend when they travel to the Neumann University Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
