Women’s Soccer Suffers Setback with 3-1 Loss at Neumann

Sophomore Claire Depew found the back of the net for the first time in her career on Wednesday at Neumann.

Aston, PA (September 14, 2011) – The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its fourth straight game on Wednesday evening, falling to Neumann University, 3-1, in a non-conference game under the lights.

The Bulldogs (1-4 overall) fell behind 2-0 in the first half and trailed 3-0 early in the second half after an own goal in the 56th minute.  DSU got on the board at the 79:53 mark when sophomore Claire Depew scored her first career goal off an assist from fellow sophomore Lydia Younger.

DSU did hold a 14-13 edge in shots for the game and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.  Junior Alex Bastinelli made the only save for the Bulldogs in between the pipes.

DeSales will look to get back on track this weekend when they travel to Drew University for a non-conference game on Saturday beginning at 3:30 pm.
