Aston, PA (September 16, 2011) – The DeSales University volleyball team went 2-0 on day one of the Neumann University Tournament on Friday evening, defeating Bryn Mawr College (3-0) and Wesley College (3-0) to improve to 10-2 on the season.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-21, 25-15 in the win over Bryn Mawr and 25-14, 25-9, 25-10 in the victory over Wesley.

In the Bryn Mawr match sophomore Haley Petrarca continued her hot play with 10 kills.  Senior Lauren Hickey added nine kills and three blocks, sophomore Emilie Baker had nine kills and 11 digs, and junior Paige Horrigan totaled five kills and four blocks.

Junior Justine McNulty totaled four kills, 33 assists, two aces, and 14 digs, junior Eden Reichard had 18 digs, and freshman Amanda Wallitsch finished with 12 digs.

In the Wesley match, Petrarca again led the way with 13 kills.  Hickey added five kills, sophomore Macy Farrell totaled four kills and five digs, and P. Horrigan and freshman Julie Blessing each had three kills and two blocks.  McNulty totaled 25 assists and Reichard had 16 digs and five service aces.

The Bulldogs take on Widener University in the first match on Saturday and then take on a team TBA pending the outcome of the Widener match.
