Center Valley, PA (October 1, 2012) – Cedar Crest College scored 5:29 into the first overtime period, shocking the DeSales University field hockey team, 2-1, in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-6) lose for the fourth straight time, while Cedar Crest improves to 5-5 on the year.

DSU took a 1-0 lead when sophomore Alison Malatesta scored unassisted at 22:53 of the first half, but the Falcons tied it up just before the half when Emily Rodenberger scored with 4:32 left in the half.

The Bulldogs dominated play in the second-half, out-shooting CCC, 11-3, but could not find the back of the cage despite attempting 14 second-half corners.

In the overtime period, DeSales had a few chances early, including two more penalty corners, but again was unable to score and CCC broke thru in the sixth minute when Jessica Sanbeg took advantage of a pass that squirted past the Bulldog keeper and poked it into the cage for the game-winner.

DeSales wastes no time in attempting to stop this four-game losing skid tomorrow when they host Immaculata University in another non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
