Bulldogs Roll Past FDU-Florham; Clinch Home Playoff Match

Madison, NJ (October 10, 2012) – Seniors Paige Horrigan and Eden Reichard along with sophomore Julie Blessing combined for 42 kills and just four errors for a .456 hitting percentage leading the DeSales University volleyball team past FDU-Florham, 3-1, to stay unbeaten at 5-0 in the Freedom Conference and clinch no worse than the #2 seed in the Freedom Conference playoffs.

The Bulldogs breezed thru the first two sets, 25-6 and 25-12 before dropping a tight third set, 25-27, and regrouping in fourth set to win 25-14.  DSU hit .338 as a team in the win.

Leading the attack was P. Horrigan with 16 kills and two blocks.  Reichard finished with 14 kills and 13 digs and Blessing had 12 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.  Junior Emilie Baker had 17 digs, sophomore Amanda Wallitsch had 15 digs, and sophomore Brooke Horrigan added 41 assists  and eight digs in the win.

DSU returns to action next Tuesday when they travel to Delaware Valley College for a Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
