Women’s Soccer Blanked at Wilkes, 4-0

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 10, 2012) – Wilkes University broke open a close game thru the first 60 minutes with three second-half goals en route to a 4-0 win over the DeSales University women's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (6-6-1, 1-2 Freedom) were out-shot 25-10 in the game and Wilkes (9-3-1, 3-0 Freedom) took the only three corner kicks in the game.

WU led 1-0 after a goal in the 15th minute by Lyndsay Ellis and got goals in the 62nd and 69th minute to put the game out of reach before the final 4-0 margin was posted.

Freshman Taylor Cowan made 12 saves in between the pipes for DeSales.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday when they host Misericordia University beginning at 12:30 pm.
