Center Valley, PA (October 18, 2012) – Moravian College entered Thursday's match ranked sixth in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings and the Bulldogs nearly knocked them off, dropping an extremely tight 3-1 decision that saw three of the four sets decided by just two points in Billera Hall.

The Bulldogs (12-16) gave the Greyhounds (21-5) all they could handle as DSU has now played one of the toughest schedules across the Mid-Atlantic region having faced five of the eight teams ranked in the region (Salisbury, Stevenson, Moravian, Gallaudet, and Messiah) and will face its sixth next week when they host Freedom Conference foe Eastern University.

Senior Paige Horrigan reached a milestone in the loss, recording 11 kills and five blocks giving her 901 kills in her career and making her the ninth player in school history to record 900+ kills in a career.

Sophomore Amanda Wallistch and senior Eden Reichard were terrific on Thursday night on defense digging a combined 52 balls including 32 by Wallitsch and 20 by Reichard.  Junior Emilie Baker added 13 kills and 10 digs and sophomore Brooke Horrigan also played well with 40 assists, 11 digs, and three blocks.
