Bulldogs Make Quick Work of Wilkes to Stay Unbeaten in Freedom

Center Valley, PA (October 2, 2012) – Junior Emilie Baker had a match-high tying 11 kills and hit .400 for the match as the DeSales University volleyball team needed just 51 minutes to improve to 4-0 in the Freedom Conference with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-20) win over Wilkes University on Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs hit .338 as a team and improve to 10-12 overall on the year, while the Colonels hit just .020 and fall to 6-11 (2-2 Freedom) on the season.

Baker had just one error in 25 attack attempts and also led the charge with a team-high nine digs.  Sophomore Julie Blessing and senior Paige Horrigan continued their strong play in the middle with 12 kills and five total blocks, including four for Blessing and three for Horrigan, including two solo.

Junior Macy Farrell had six kills and no errors on nine attacks for a .667 hitting percentage and senior Eden Reichard finished with four kills, five aces, and seven digs.  Sophomore Brooke Horrigan added 33 assists and eight digs, sophomore Amanda Wallitsch finished with six digs, and sophomore Nicole Morin totaled seven digs.

The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow night when they host PSU-Berks in a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm in Billera Hall.
