Center Valley, PA (October 6, 2012) – The DeSales University men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 and despite out-shooting the Monarchs, 13-3, in the second half, the Bulldogs were unable to find the tying marker, suffering a 2-1 loss to King's College in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-1 in the Freedom Conference, while King's improves to 1-1 in the Freedom.  DSU out-shot the Monarchs, 20-11, for the game.

King's took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute when no one marked Kevin Buchanan on a free kick as he volleyed home a long service in the box.

The Monarchs got a very important insurance goal 11:46 into the second when the Bulldogs again had a breakdown on a free kick.  Chris Nygren sent a long free kick from just around midfield into the box where Niall Croke served the ball back into the center of the box and David Stroh knocked it into the top of the net for a 2-0 Monarch lead.

DeSales became the aggressor from that point forward as senior Padraic Farrell scored on a beautiful pass thru the Monarch defense from junior Matt Metzler in the 63rd minute but were unable to find the tying goal over the final 28 minutes.

DeSales returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Wilkes University for another Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
