Center Valley, PA (October 26, 2013) – Freshman Wes Frebel scored his eighth goal of the season in the 79th minute leading the DeSales University men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Delaware Valley College keeping the Bulldogs in the playoff hunt heading into the final Freedom Conference game of the season next weekend.

The Bulldogs (9-9, 3-3 Freedom) controlled play all afternoon vs. the Aggies (8-9-1, 1-5 Freedom), out-shooting Delaware Valley, 29-9, and holding a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.  The win is the 12th straight for DeSales over DVC with the Aggies last win coming during the 2001 season.

After a scoreless first-half and start of the second-half, Frebel finally got DSU on the board, taking a pass outside the box in the middle of the field from sophomore Stevie Castellani, turning into space, and firing a shot from about 25 yards out low and inside the left post for a 1-0 Bulldog lead.

Junior Colin Sulpizio and the Bulldog defense did the rest as Sulpizio made two saves and the defense was anchored by senior Matt Metzler, freshman Jonathan Matejcek, and junior Phil Bortz along with freshman Michael Bammundo and junior Mikel Lezama.

The Bulldogs conclude the regular season next Saturday at King's College in what will likely be a very important game for the Bulldogs beginning at 7:30 pm.
