Bulldogs Roll Past King’s in Freedom Finale

Senior Madeline Svrcek had nine kills and 13 digs on senior day in the win over King's College on Wednesday.

Center Valley, PA (October 30, 2013) – Freshman Lauren Hess had 12 kills and senior Madeline Svrcek added nine kills as the DeSales University volleyball team rolled past King's College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-6) in the regular season Freedom Conference finale.

The Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 5-2 Freedom record and will be the #3 seed in the Freedom Conference playoffs.  DSU will travel to #2 seed Wilkes University in the Freedom Conference semifinals nest Wednesday with match time set for 7:00 pm.

Hess finished with a .429 hitting percentage in the win on Wednesday and freshman Arielle Nicholson hit .545 with six kills in 11 attempts.  Svrcek added 13 digs and two aces to her nine kills, while Nicholson added four blocks to her six kills.  Senior Emilie Baker totaled five kills and senior Macy Farrell had three kills and three blocks.

Graduate student Justine McNulty totaled 29 assists, junior Amanda Wallitsch had a team-high 14 digs, senior Claire Depew had seven digs, and sophomore Laura Greenberg and freshman Lisa Wallitsch each had three aces in the win.

The Bulldogs will finish up the regular season this Saturday at Richard Stockton College taking on the Ospreys and Neumann University.
