Purchase, NY (October 5, 2013) – Junior Colin Sulpizio made six saves and the Bulldogs wasted no time taking control in the 2013 season Freedom Conference opener scoring just 2:58 into the game en route to a 2-0 win over Manhattanville College on Saturday evening.

Freshman Wes Frebel got things started just two seconds shy of the three minute mark when he headed home a cross into the box by junior Mikel Lezama.

That goal stood into the half for a 1-0 Bulldog lead as both teams attempted three shots in the opening 45 minutes.

In the second-half, DSU got its insurance goal in the 63rd minute when sophomore Stevie Castellani scored off an assist from sophomore Mike Lawler and the Bulldog defense and Sulpizio did the rest holding the Valiants scoreless as DeSales recorded its third shutout of the season in the win.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, October 9th when they host Franklin & Marshall College in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
