DSU Splits Tri-Match at Stockton with Win over Neumann

Junior Amanda Wallitsch totaled 18 digs in the two matches on Saturday at Richard Stockton College.

Center Valley, PA (November 2, 2013) – The DeSales University volleyball team split its tri-match at Richard Stockton College on Saturday afternoon with a win over Neumann University before falling to the host Ospreys to finish up the regular season schedule.

DSU (18-14 overall) defeated the Knights, 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-18), before falling to Richard Stockton, 3-0 (11-25, 18-25, 16-25).

In the win over Neumann freshman Lauren Hess had 13 kills and just one error for a .667 hitting percentage, while seniors Madeline Svrcek and Macy Farrell each had six kills.  Svrcek added 13 digs and two blocks, while junior Chrissy Banos and freshman Arielle Nicholson combined for nine kills and four blocks.

Junior Amanda Wallitsch had eight digs and freshman Lisa Wallitsch had 29 assists and 11 digs in the win over the Knights.

In the loss to Stockton, Hess led the way with seven kills and Nicholson had five kills.  A. Wallitsch had a team-high 10 digs, L. Wallitsch finished with 14 assists and eight digs, Svrcek totaled eight digs, and graduate student Justine McNulty added seven assists.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, November 6th when they travel to Wilkes University for the Freedom Conference semifinals with match time set for 7:00 pm.
