New York, NY (January 5, 2014) – Three Bulldogs reached double digits including senior Megan Gallagher with a career-high 17 points leading the DeSales University women's basketball team to its sixth straight win, 70-59, over Baruch College on Sunday afternoon.

Gallagher added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals to her stat line.  Senior Sondrine Glovas recorded her first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds and senior Alexiah Grant finished with 13 points and four steals in the win.

Alicia Ulmer had a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards to lead Baruch.  Iyana Abrams also had 16 points and Symone Green finished with 10 points in the loss.

The first-half was a back and forth game over the first 10 minutes with Baruch clinging to a 13-11 lead at the 9:44 mark when DSU used a 14-3 run over the next five minutes to build a 25-16 lead with 4:38 left to play.  Grant led that charge with eight points, including two three-pointers as the lead grew to 11 points at the break (34-23).

Baruch opened the second-half chipping away at the deficit and pulling within two points (42-40) at the 13:00 minute mark before the Bulldogs answered with an 11-0 run over the next 2:34 to take a 53-40 lead and never looked back from there.  Five different players scored during the game-clinching 11-0 spurt.

Junior Alex Suk added eight points and eight boards for the Bulldogs and junior Mikelyn Mackavage had six points off the bench.

DSU shot 41.7 percent from the field and was 4-for-8 (50.0%) from three-point land.

DeSales is off until next Saturday when they travel to Rosemont College for another non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
