Allentown, PA (October 1, 2014) – Senior
Brady Walsh scored two goals helping the DeSales University women's soccer team earn a 3-3 double overtime tie on Wednesday evening at Muhlenberg College as Walsh moves into second place all-time with 36 career goals.
Walsh moves past
Dana Eustace who was in second place all-time with 35 career markers.
DSU (3-5-3 overall) took an early 2-0 lead as junior
Jamie Barna scored her first goal of the year off an assist from sophomore
Jess Wetherhold just 8:59 into the game and Walsh made it 2-0 just under 10 minutes later on another assist from Wetherhold.
Muhlenberg got one back in the 32
nd minute when
Audrey Zamichow scored unassisted as the Bulldogs held a one goal lead into the break.
The Mules tied the score 7:05 into the second-half but DeSales needed just 49 seconds to reclaim the lead as Walsh scored her second of the game on an assist from sophomore
Jenni Thuss.
MC finally tied the game in the 72
nd minute when
Taylor Pini scored unassisted and the game went into overtime tied at three.
MC had a 3-1 shot advantage in the first overtime and a 3-2 advantage in the second extra period before both teams settled for the tie.
Muhlenberg had a 27-16 edge in shots and a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior
Michelle Churchman was outstanding making 12 saves for the Bulldogs.
DSU returns to action on Saturday as they begin Freedom Conference play on the road traveling to Wilkes University with game time set for 7:30 pm.
