Bulldogs Sweep Tri-Match with Widener and Neumann

Chester, PA (October 18, 2014) – Senior Amanda Wallitsch totaled 55 digs in two matches leading the DeSales University volleyball team to a tri-match sweep of Neumann University (3-1) and Widener University (3-0) on Saturday afternoon.
 
DSU started the day with a 3-1 win over Neumann, 25-13, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22 and finished the day with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-19, 28-26) of Widener University.
 
Senior Julie Blessing led the attack vs. Neumann totaling 14 kills and recording two blocks, while freshman Logan Wieziolowski also reached double digit kills with 12 and added three blocks.  Senior Chrissy Banos and freshman Sienna Heist each had seven kills with three blocks each.
 
Sophomore Lisa Wallitsch had 41 assists and 14 digs, while Amanda Wallitsch finished with 30 digs.  Freshman Bernadette Wood (11), junior Laura Greenberg (10), and junior Lizzi Levis (10) all each had double digit digs.
 
In the win over Widener Heist led the attack with 12 kills, while Blessing had 10 kills and Wieziolowski finished with eight kills and three digs.
 
L. Wallitsch totaled five kills, 34 assists, and 16 digs, while A. Wallitsch finished with 25 digs in the win.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday traveling to Misericordia University for a critical Freedom Conference game set to begin at 7:00 pm.
