Center Valley, PA (November 12, 2014) – The DeSales University women's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Wednesday afternoon falling to McDaniel College, 3-0, in the ECAC South Region Tournament Quarterfinals.
The Bulldogs finish the year with a 10-7-4 overall record, recording the second most wins in program history equaling the 2006 total and two wins shy of the 2001 total of 12.
McDaniel (10-5-4) opened the scoring just 3:31 into the game when the Bulldog keeper turned the ball over and
Katie Kirschenmann fired a shot that took a hop over a diving keeper and into the net.
Kirschenmann made it a 2-0 game in the 35
th minute knocking home a centering pass from
Maggie Quinn that squirted thru the keeper's hands in front of the net.
Christina Wroblewski added another Green Terror goal in the 75
th minute scoring off a rebound of a saved shot from Quinn.
Freshman
Shannon Pennella made three saves for the Bulldogs in her first career start as McDaniel had a 17-8 edge in shots and a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks for the game.
