Center Valley, PA, (November 4, 2014) – The DeSales University volleyball team will begin post-season play on Wednesday as the #2 seeded Bulldogs will play host to #3 Misericordia University in the semifinals of the Freedom Conference Tournament beginning at 7:00 pm in Billera Hall.
The Bulldogs will enter the game with a 22-11 overall record and a 6-1 mark in the Freedom Conference, while Misericordia enters with a 16-17 overall mark and a 5-2 record in Freedom Conference play.
There will be admission for the event with ticket prices set at $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students. All DeSales students with a valid school ID will be admitted for FREE. All children under the age of six will also be admitted for free.

DeSales/Misericordia All-Time Series:DeSales owns a 15-1 lead in the all-time series between the two teams and is 7-0 vs. the Cougars at home. This will be the first career meeting between the two schools in the Freedom Conference post-season. These two teams did meet back in 1994 in the PAC Tournament championship match, a 3-0 Bulldogs win.
Regular Season Meeting: Box Score - RecapDeSales erased a 12-8 deficit in the fifth set to win 18-16 and earn a 3-2 win over Misericordia on the road in a really tight match. Chrissy Banos added 10 kills. As a team, DSU had 14 total blocks with Banos recording seven, freshman
Logan Wieziolowski totaling six, and Blessing and senior

Shelby Brochetti led MU with 26 and 24 kills each.
DeSales in the Freedom Conference post-season:DeSales is making its 12
th appearance in the Freedom Conference Tournament and its eighth straight. The Bulldogs have been to the Freedom Conference championship game in six of their last seven appearances, winning the title in 2007. DSU owns a 7-10 record in the Freedom post-season. DeSales is 4-1 all-time in home Freedom Conference Tournament games, winning four straight.

Amanda Wallitsch is DSU's all-time leader in digs with just over 2,100 and is just three digs shy of setting a new single-season mark entering Wednesday's match with 654 digs on the season…Wieziolowski leads the Bulldogs in total blocks with 99 and is 10 block assists shy of tying the single-season mark.
About the Cougars:Misericordia is led by Brochetti and Stack offensively with Brochetti totaling 335 kills and a .234 hitting percentage and Stack recording 289 kills and a .202 hitting percentage…they are the only two players with 200+ kills on the team…
Nicole Tagerty has 858 assists on the season averaging 7.27 per set and is also the team leader with 56 service aces…Brochetti and Stack also lead the Cougars on defense compiling 375 and 320 digs respectively.
