Center Valley, PA, (November 7, 2014) – For the seventh time in the last eight years the DeSales University volleyball team will compete for a Freedom Conference championship traveling to Eastern University on Saturday with the match time set for 5:00 pm.
The Bulldogs enter with a 23-11 overall record after posting a 6-1 mark in Freedom Conference play during the regular season, while Eastern hosts the title match with a 28-5 overall mark and a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.
There will be admission for the event with ticket prices set at $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students with a valid ID. All children under the age of six will also be admitted for free.

DeSales/Eastern All-Time Series:Eastern owns an 18-12 lead in the all-time series between the two teams and have won each of the last 14 meetings. DSU became the only team to take a set from the Eagles in Freedom Conference play since EU joined the conference in 2008 this regular season when the Bulldogs fell to Eastern, 3-1, in Billera Hall. EU has eliminated DSU from the Freedom Conference Tournament each of the last six years with five of those meetings coming in the championship match.
Regular Season Meeting: Box Score - RecapEastern remained unbeaten all-time in Freedom Conference play with a 3-1 win but the Bulldogs became the first team to take a set from the Eagles in Freedom Conference competition winning the third set, 26-24.
Alicia Weigel led the Eagles with 18 kills, while
Rylie Haas and
Lauren Sproles each had 20 digs. Freshman
Logan Wieziolowski had nine kills and three blocks and junior
Laura Greenberg finished with a team-high 19 digs.
DeSales in the Freedom Conference post-season:DeSales is making its 12
th appearance in the Freedom Conference Tournament and its eighth straight. The Bulldogs have been to the Freedom Conference championship game in seven of their last eight appearances (including this year), winning the title in 2007. DSU owns an 8-10 record in the Freedom post-season.

Amanda Wallitsch is DSU's all-time leader in digs with just over 2,100 and set a new single-season record for digs in a season on Wednesday with 666 this year…Wieziolowski leads the Bulldogs in total blocks with 101 and is eight block assists shy of tying the single-season mark.
