Box Score Mahwah, NJ (August 30, 2014) – Three first-half goals was all the DeSales University men's soccer team needed blanking John Jay College, 3-0, in the consolation game of the Ramapo College Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
Wes Frebel put DSU on the board first for the second straight game, scoring unassisted in the 7
th minute for his second tally of the year.
It was still a 1-0 game in the 31
st minute when junior
Mike Lawler scored off an assist from sophomore
Alex Peek and sophomore
Damien Grycel finished off the scoring with his first career goal off a feed from junior
Patrick Roche.
DSU out-shot JJC, 12-9, and had a 9-3 advantage on corner kicks. Senior
Colin Sulpizio made four saves to record his first shutout of the season and the 10
th of his career.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, September 6
th when they travel to Dickinson College beginning at 2:00 pm.
