Virginia Beach, VA (August, 29, 2014) – Tournament host Virginia Wesleyan College scored once in each half handing the DeSales University women's soccer team a 2-0 loss in the season opener for both teams on Friday evening.
 
The Marlins took the 1-0 lead in the 33^rd minute when Annie Hartman scored and got their insurance goal in the 62^nd minute on an unassisted tally from Kristen Cherry.
 
DSU was out-shot 15-10 in the game.  Senior Michelle Churchman made three saves in the loss.
 
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow when they take on Christopher Newport University beginning at 6:00 pm.
