Julie Blessing earning All-Tournament Team honors for the Bulldogs.
DSU (6-2 overall) opened the day with a 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 27-25, 25-20) win over local rival Moravian College and completed the day sweeping Freedom Conference for FDU-Florham, 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-10).
Blessing led the charge in the win over Moravian with 13 kills and four blocks, while freshman
Sienna Heist added 11 kills and both freshman
Logan Wieziolowski and senior
Chrissy Banos each had eight kills. Junior
Lizzi Levis was outstanding defensively with a team-high 23 digs, while senior
Amanda Wallitsch added 17 digs. Sophomore
Lisa Wallitsch finished with 36 assists and 12 digs.
In the sweep of the Devils Wieziolowski led the charge with 11 kills and Banos and Heist each had 10 kills. A. Wallitsch was the lone player with double digit digs, 18 of them, and L. Wallitsch finished with 29 assists.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, September 10
th when they host Moravian College in Billera Hall beginning at 7:00 pm.
