Jesse Marshall had a goal and two assists and sophomore
Nicola McDermott scored two goals leading the DeSales University field hockey team to its second straight shutout win, 5-0, over Elmira College in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs out-shot Elmira, 28-6, for the game and had a 10-4 edge in penalty corners. Junior
Becky Rasmuson made two saves to earn her third career shutout and the second this season.
Marshall started the scoring at 4:04 tapping in a shot from senior
Alyssa Malatesta. Malatesta then made it a 2-0 game just 6:04 later, this time on assist from Marshall and the lead was pushed to three at 19:15 when freshman
Tess Luzi scored her first career goal on an assist from Marshall.
McDermott got into the scoring act in the second half scoring twice in a span of 30 seconds early in the half to give DSU a 5-0 lead. Sophomore
Alexa Beaumont earned an assist on McDermott's second tally.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, September 10
th when they travel to William Paterson University for another non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
