Center Valley, PA (January 7, 2015) – Four players scored in double digits and a 13-2 run mid-way thru the second-half helped the DeSales University men's basketball team earn an 81-75 win over Arcadia University in the final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

The Basics

Score: DeSales – 81, Arcadia – 75
Records:  DeSales (9-4 overall); Arcadia (6-7 overall)
Quick Summary:  DSU turned the ball over just two times in the last 11:35 of the game and used a 13-2 run mid-way thru the second-half to turn a five point deficit into a six point lead (68-62) with 6:29 to play.  Arcadia got within two points twice with less than 90 seconds left but a lay-up from sophomore Kuity Slanger and a loose ball rebound and put-back by senior Travis Bryan sealed the win for the Bulldogs.

First-Half Highlights

- Both teams shot above 50 percent in the opening half which featured four ties and six lead changes.
- DeSales led by six early (22-16) before a 9-2 Knight run gave the visitors a 25-24 lead.
- AU led by as many as seven points (37-30) with 2:06 left in the half but a quick 8-2 run highlighted by a three-point play from Slanger and corner three from sophomore Brian Laird to end the half made it a 39-38 game in favor of Arcadia heading into the locker room.

Second-Half Highlights

- Arcadia continued to lead throughout the first eight and a half minutes of the second-half and took its largest lead of the half (60-55) with 11:27 left to play on two free throws from Joe Brown.
- DeSales erased that deficit with a 13-2 run over the next 4:58 led by two three's and eight points from Laird during the spurt.
- DSU, which had turned the ball over 16 times in the first 29 minutes of the game, did an outstanding job of taking care of the ball late, committing just two miscues over the final 11:35 of the game.
- Arcadia pulled to within two points twice at 1:14 mark and again with 41 seconds left.  A backdoor lay-up from Slanger off a gorgeous feed from junior Cody Deal pushed the lead to four points the first time and after Laird had his baseline jumper blocked, Bryan was there to scoop up the loose ball rebound and converted a lay-up with 25 seconds left the second time to give DSU a 79-75 advantage.
- Arcadia missed a three-pointer on the next possession and Slanger iced the win with two free throws after being fouled in the rebound.
