Center Valley, PA (October 31, 2015) – The DeSales University volleyball split a home tri-match on Halloween afternoon defeating Neumann University, 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-23), before falling to Stockton University, 3-0 (14-25, 22-25, 14-25).
Match #1The Bulldogs (21-10) battled back in the first set with the Knights (14-19) to take set one, 25-23, before cruising in the second set (25-15) hitting .323. The third set was another tight battle but saw DSU hit .250 with 19 kills to earn the three-set win.
Freshman
Gabby Savite' led the charge with 16 kills and a .424 hitting percentage in the win. She added 13 digs. Sophomore
Logan Wieziolowski had nine kills and one block and senior
Kait Anderson finished with eight kills.
Junior
Lisa Wallitsch handed out 40 assists and totaled a match-high 18 digs and freshman
Natalie Gray finished with 12 digs in the win.
Match #2Stockton (28-4 overall) hit .297 for the match holding off a second-set rally by the Bulldogs in the win.
Wieziolowski led the charge on offense finishing with eight kills. Savite` and junior
Jess Swanson added six kills. Wallitsch finished with 25 assists, Gray led the defense with 16 digs, and Savte` added 10 digs in the loss.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, November 4
th when they host FDU-Florham in the MAC Freedom semifinals beginning at 7:00 pm.
