Granville, OH (November 14, 2015) – The most historic season in DeSales University women's soccer team history came to an end on Saturday as Denison University scored in the 84
th minute to defeat the Bulldogs 1-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
The Bulldogs (14-6) close out the record breaking season with the most wins in team history (14), winning their first-ever MAC Freedom Championship, and advancing to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament.
Denison scored the game-winner and the only goal of the game at 83:12 when
Jessica Skelly finished a header by
Meg Wozniak to the far post after an initial cross into the box. The Bulldogs pushed up in an attempt to find the tying marker but two shots last in the game were blocked and hit high as Denison held on for the opening round win.
It was a scoreless first-half that saw the Big Red (16-4) as the aggressor owning an 11-1 advantage in shots in the opening half. DU had one shot hit the crossbar and another shot waved off because of a hand ball.

Rachel Shive unleashed a blast in the 69
th minute that was blocked by a defender and DU's keeper made the only save she needed too in the 74
th minute off another shot from Shive.

Emily Hoats made three saves in net for DeSales as Denison finished with a 15-6 advantage in shots and the only four corner kicks of the game.
