Center Valley, PA, (November 6, 2014) – After a wild 3-2 come from behind win over FDU-Florham on Wednesday in the MAC Freedom Tournament semifinals the DeSales University volleyball team travels to top seeded Eastern University looking to take home its second MAC Freedom Championship on Saturday afternoon.
DeSales enters with a 22-10 overall record after posting a 6-1 mark in the MAC Freedom to earn the second seed, while Eastern enters the title match with a 27-7 overall record after a perfect 7-0 mark in the MAC Freedom to clinch the top seed.

DeSales/Eastern All-Time Series:Eastern owns a 22-12 lead in the all-time series between the two teams…the Eagles have won 16 straight in the series including a 3-0 win during the regular season…EU is also 14-5 vs. the Bulldogs at home…Saturday's match-up is the eighth in the MAC Freedom postseason with six of the first seven coming in the MAC Freedom championship match.
Regular Season Meeting:Eastern swept the Bulldogs, 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-17) in the regular season meeting in St. David's, PA. Sophomore
Logan Wieziolowski led the way with six kills and two blocks and freshman
Gabby Savite' had five kills. Freshman
Natalie Gray added 10 digs in the loss.
DeSales in the Freedom Conference post-season:DeSales is making its 13
th appearance in the Freedom Conference Tournament and its ninth straight. The Bulldogs have been to the Freedom Conference championship game in eight of their last nine appearances (including this season), winning the title in 2007. DSU owns a 9-11 record in the Freedom post-season.
About the Bulldogs:Savite` leads both the Bulldogs and the MAC Freedom with 403 kills this season and on Wednesday became the first player in school history to record 400+ kills and 400+ digs in a season…she has a .232 hitting percentage and also ranks second on the team with 420 digs…she was honored on Thursday being named the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and to the All-MAC Freedom First-Team…Wieziolowski is second on the team with 320 kills and leads DSU with 88 total blocks…she was honored on the All-MAC Freedom Second-Team on Thursday…Anderson has also had the best season of her career totaling 228 kills…Wallitsch leads the MAC Freedom in assists with 1,187 and is averaging an impressive 10.5 assists per set…she joined Savite` on the All-MAC Freedom First-Team for the second consecutive season…Wallitsch also leads the MAC Freedom in service aces with 64…Gray, who took home All-MAC Freedom Second-Team honors leads DeSales with 523 digs (4.63 DPS).
