Center Valley, PA (January 11, 2016) – Twelve different players scored as the DeSales University women's basketball team earned its fifth straight win rolling past Immaculata University, 83-31, in non-conference action on Monday evening.
DSU (9-4) never trailed in the win scoring the first 11 points of the game and enjoyed a 24-5 lead after the first quarter. The lead was 42-14 at the half and the Bulldogs led by as many as 54 points late in the fourth quarter.
DeSales shot 43.2 percent from the field and dominated the paint out-scoring IU (2-12), 42-6, in the paint. DSU also dominated the glass out-rebounding the Mighty Macs, 61-28 for the game.
Three players reached double digits including junior
Morgan McCollian with a game-high 13 points and seven rebounds in just 12 minutes of action. Senior
Jen Napolitano had 11 points and freshman
Bridget Walsh came off the bench to total 12 points and nine rebounds. Junior
Nikki Callahan dished out seven assists.
IU was led
Theresa Walsh with 10 points and
Reilly Larkin finished with nine points.
Walsh earns
A.B.E. Doors and Windows Player of the Game honors falling just one rebound shy of her first career double-double in the win.
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they host King's College in a MAC Freedom game beginning at 6:00 pm.
