Michael Kirby scored with 6:34 left lifting the DeSales University men's soccer team past Delaware Valley University, 1-0, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday evening.
The win moves the Bulldogs (8-5-1, 3-1 MAC Freedom) into a three-way tie for first place in the conference standings with three games left to play with Misericordia University and FDU-Florham. DeSales hosts Misericordia this Wednesday and has already beaten FDU-Florham earlier this season.
A scoreless game was broken in the 84th minute when sophomore
Charlie Jerry sent a free kick from just inside midfield to the back post where Kirby ran it down and touched a shot just past a surprised Aggie keeper for the game's only goal. It was Kirby's fourth of the season and Jerry's first assist.
DSU dominated play out-shooting the Aggies (5-8-1, 0-4 MAC Freedom), 18-5, for the game and had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Dan Sulpizio recorded his fourth shutout making three saves in the win.
