Box Score Center Valley, PA (October 19, 2016) - The DeSales University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Misericordia University in a battle for first place on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars (9-5-1, 4-1 MAC Freedom) broke open a close game in the 33rd minute scoring two goals in a span of 21 seconds to take a 2-0 lead. Â The first goal came at 32:22 and came off a free kick that popped up into the air andÂ
Trey Zeigler was in the right spot on the back post to knock it in.  Just 21 seconds later MU drew a foul in the box andÂ
George Stock put away the PK to give MU the 2-0 lead that stood into half.
Misericordia scored once more 12:28 into the second-half whenÂ

Anthony Ippolito who beat a charging GK to the ball, side stepped the diving attempt, and scored into the open net.
MU had 15-2 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks for the game. Â JuniorÂ
Dan Sulpizio made two saves for the Bulldogs (8-6-2, 3-2 MAC Freedom).
DSU falls into a third place tie with King's Collge and Eastern University with two games left to play in the MAC Freedom schedule. Â This weekend the Buldogs take to the road for an important road game at Wilkes University beginning at 5:00 pm.
