Men's Soccer Falls to Misericordia, 3-0

Box Score
Center Valley, PA (October 19, 2016) - The DeSales University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Misericordia University in a battle for first place on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars (9-5-1, 4-1 MAC Freedom) broke open a close game in the 33rd minute scoring two goals in a span of 21 seconds to take a 2-0 lead.  The first goal came at 32:22 and came off a free kick that popped up into the air and Trey Zeigler was in the right spot on the back post to knock it in.  Just 21 seconds later MU drew a foul in the box and George Stock put away the PK to give MU the 2-0 lead that stood into half.

Misericordia scored once more 12:28 into the second-half when Niko Amity sent a thru ball to Anthony Ippolito who beat a charging GK to the ball, side stepped the diving attempt, and scored into the open net.

MU had 15-2 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks for the game.  Junior Dan Sulpizio made two saves for the Bulldogs (8-6-2, 3-2 MAC Freedom).

DSU falls into a third place tie with King's Collge and Eastern University with two games left to play in the MAC Freedom schedule.  This weekend the Buldogs take to the road for an important road game at Wilkes University beginning at 5:00 pm.
