Dallas, PA (November 1, 2016) - The DeSales University men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Misericordia University on Tuesday evening in the MAC Freedom Tournament semifinals.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 9-9-2 overall as DSU now awaits a possible ECACÂ Tournament bid announced on Monday. Â Misericordia (12-5-2) advances to the MAC Freedom Championship game where it will host Eastern University, a PK winner on Tuesday afternoon.
It was a scoreless game into the 33rd minute when the Cougars took a 1-0 lead on a header goal from
David Malaquias off a corner kick feed from
Levi Roberts that lasted thru the half.
The Bulldogs continued to be within a goal into the 70th minute when MU put the game away with back-to-back goals just 56 seconds apart in the 73rd and 74th minute to provide the final tally.
Misericordia out-shot DeSales, 17-14, while both teams attempted 10 corner kicks in the game. Â Junior
Dan Sulpizio made three saves in the loss.
