Dallas, PA (November 5, 2016) - The DeSales University women's soccer team saw its 2016 season come to a close falling to top seeded Misericordia University, 5-0, in the MAC Freedom Championship game on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs finish the season with a 9-10 overall record and having qualified and advanced to the MAC Freedom Championship game for the third straight season.

MU (16-3) broke open a scoreless tie with goals in the 30th and 32nd minute just 2:20 apart and very nearly made it 3-0 but missed a penalty kick late in the first-half as the Cougars took a 2-0 lead into the half.

Misericordia kept the pressure on with another tally just over four minutes into the second-half and cruised home from there.

MU had a 22-5 advantage in shots and a slim 4-2 edge in corner kicks.  Senior Emily Hoats made seven saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
