Center Valley, PA (April 10, 2016) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team dominated the second-half out-scoring King's College, 11-3, in the second-half to record a 15-7 win over the Monarchs in the MAC Freedom opener for both teams on Sunday afternoon.
DSU (1-7, 1-0 MAC Freedom) took a 3-0 lead before the Monarchs (1-7, 0-1 MAC Freedom) tied the game at three before both teams exchanged goals to end the second quarter as the game was tied at four at the half.
The Bulldogs opened the second-half with consecutive goals before King's answered with a man-up goal to pull within 6-5. DSU put the game away after that scoring eight straight goals to take a 14-5 lead and never looked back from there.
Sophomore
Joe Neggia led the attack with three goals and four assists for seven points. Senior
Ryan Loughlin added four goals and junior
Justin Wilson had three goals. Junior
Jake McNamara scored twice and junior
Tyler Newman had one goal and three assists.
Freshmen
Tom Pryor and
Nick Altland each had a goal, while sophomore
Josh Harman and senior
Tim Barry added assists in the win.
Senior
Matt Warnken was outstanding in net making 12 saves and McNamara won 13-of-24 face-offs and picked up four ground balls in the win.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Misericordia University for another MAC Freedom battle beginning at 7:00 pm.
