Men’s Lacrosse Rolls to Program-Best Sixth Straight Win

Center Valley, PA (April 26, 2016) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team set a new team record winning its sixth straight game, cruising past Manhattanville College, 18-4, to stay unbeaten in MAC Freedom play this season in the first official game under the lights at the new turf field on Tuesday evening.
 
The Bulldogs (6-7, 6-0 MAC Freedom) finish the regular season at Eastern University on Saturday.  Eastern is also unbeaten in conference play entering its match-up with FDU-Florham on Wednesday.  The winner of Saturday's game will be the top seed for the MAC Freedom Tournament next week.
 
DSU dominated from the very start on Tuesday out-scoring Manhattanville 7-0 in the first quarter as the Bulldogs scored the first nine goals of the game.  DeSales out-shot Manhattanville, 40-14, for the game and held a 38-10 advantage in ground balls.  DSU also won 22-of-25 face-offs led by junior Jake McNamara who won 18-of-21 and picked up a team-high 11 ground balls.
 
Senior Ryan Loughlin led the scoring attack with six goals and two assists including his 100th career marker of his career making him just the fifth person in team history to score 100 career goals.  Sophomore Joe Neggia added three goals and three assists, junior Tyler Newman scored three times and added an assist, and sophomore Josh Harman had a team-high four assists in the win.
 
Sophomore Bryan Weber scored twice and McNamara and freshman Tom Pryor each tallied one goal and one assist.  Junior Justin Wilson and senior Hutton Jackson each scored goals and junior Ryan Jordan had an assist to round out the scoring.
 
Freshman Matt Barry and senior Matt Warnken combined to allow just four goals with Warnken making two saves and Barry one.  Freshman Nick Altland continued his terrific play in the midfield picking up five ground balls and causing five turnovers.
 
Game time for Saturday at Eastern is set for 1:30 pm.
