Second-Half Goals Lift Albright past DeSales, 3-2

Center Valley, PA (September 7, 2016) – Albright College scored twice in the second-half erasing a 2-1 halftime deficit to defeat the DeSales University field hockey team, 3-2, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (1-2) took a 1-0 lead nine minutes into the game when freshman Kylie Honnick-Payne scored unassisted off a rebound for her second goal of the season.

Albright answered in the 17th minute on a goal from Tracy Snyder but DeSales regained the lead and led into the half as Honnick-Payne tapped in a re-direction off the stick of freshman Madison Brader at 27:04.

The tying goal came at 44:14 when AC (2-0) was awarded a stroke in the circle and Kendra Delgado beat DSU's keeper to the right.  Albright then took the lead for good at 50:19 when Annette Helmandollar tipped in a shot from Amanda Long.

Albright held a 21-10 lead in shots and a 14-5 advantage in penalty corners for the game.  Freshman goalkeeper Katarina Polyviou made nine saves in the loss and freshman Autumn Klusarits had a defensive save for the Bulldogs.
