Madison, NJ (January 14, 2017) - The DeSales University women's basketball team shot just 26.9 percent dropping its first MAC Freedom game of the season, 83-51, at FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon at the Ferguson Recreation Center.
FDU (13-2, 4-0 MAC Freedom) was on fire early hitting 13-of-19 in the first quarter to open up a 29-13 lead after just 10 minutes of play. Â DSU (11-3, 3-1 MAC Freedom) did a much better job defensively in the second quarter holding the Devils to just 10 points but struggled to score themselves and trailed 39-21 at the break.
Florham put the game away in the third quarter out-scoring DeSales, 26-15, before posting the final margin. Â FDU shot 59.6 percent for the game and dominated the paint out-scoring DSU, 54-20, for the game.

Morgan McCollian was the lone double digit scorer totaling 13 points and sophomoreÂ
Morgan Birmelin finished with nine points.
FDU was led by seniorÂ
Alyssa McDonough who totaled 19 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists in the win.  FreshmanÂ
Kendrea Williams finished with 18 points, seniorÂ
Rachel Groom had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds,Â
Taiah Thornton added 13 points, and
Cayla Staggers came off the bench to score 11 points.
The Bulldogs are right back to action on Monday when they travel cross town to take on local rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 7:30 pm.
