Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 7, 2017) - The DeSales University field hockey team was held scoreless for the first just the third time all season falling at Wilkes University, 1-0, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday evening.
A scoreless game at the half, the Colonels got on the board 11:39 into the second-half. Â DeSales controlled most of the final 35 minutes of the game out-shooting WU, 8-7, in the second-half but were unable to find the tying marker.
Wilkes finished the game out-shooting DSU, 20-13, but the Bulldogs had a slim edge in penalty corners, 12-11.
Sophomore
Katarina Polyviou (Cranford, NJ) played well making 12 saves in the loss.
DeSales is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Albright College for a non-conference game beginning at 4:30 pm.
