Men's Soccer Falls in NCAA Opening Round, 2-0, to Johns Hopkins

Glassboro, NJ (November 11, 2017) - The DeSales University men's soccer team saw its season come to an end falling to Johns Hopkins University, 2-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

The Bulldogs see their season come to an end with a 12-3-6 overall record.  DSU won its fifth MAC Freedom Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in team history.

JHU (15-1-3) got the game's first goal at 17:36 of the first-half when Liam Moylan put him a cross in the middle of the box giving the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead that lasted into the half.

Hopkins got its insurance goal just 4:31 into the second-half when Achim Younker scored inside the left post after a pass from Alejandro Maclean.

The Bulldogs did fire six shots in the second-half but were never able to find the back of the net.  Senior Dan Sulpizio (Philadelphia, PA) made nine saves for the Bulldogs.  He finished the year with a 0.66 goals against average and a .880 save percentage.
